Jimin Moon is a proud Korean-American theatre artist hailing from the West Coast (Best Coast). He's spent the past year performing in Aladdin and Lempicka on Broadway!
(more) about me
Growing up in Davis, California, Jimin quickly adapted to the cold of the Northeast through his four years at Penn State. He (anticipates) graduating with honors in 2023 with a BFA in Musical Theatre and a Smeal College Certificate in Business. Throughout his time at Penn State, Jimin got to continue his work advocating for greater equity and inclusion in theatre as a two year board member of the School of Theatre Student Diversity Committee and an original executive board member of the national organization Broadway of Tomorrow.
Jimin grew up performing professionally in the Sacramento region and made his Broadway debut in Aladdin as a Swing, switched to an ensmble track, and recently made his Original Broadway Cast debut in Lempicka.
Alongside his love for the existing theatre canon, Jimin is thrilled to participate in new works. He is currently playing Jack in Christian Thompson and Maria Wirries’ new musical In-Gauged in development under the direction of John Simpkins. Music from In-Gauged debuted this winter at 54 below. Catch those videos on Youtube - where you can also watch him as Ryu in the virtual (Covid) presentation of A Tale for the Time Being.
Alongside his burgeoning performance career, Jimin is an avid reader (The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society is his all time favorite novel), baker (ask for an apple pie or chocolate raspberry cake and he’s got you), and wanna-be Pokemon trainer.
